a joint exhibition by artists Francis Casey, Jan McCullough and Rory Mullen
Presented by Kilkenny Arts Office and curated by Leah Corbett curator in residence.
Join us this Saturday for the opening of The Secret to my Success presented by Kilkenny Arts Office, where a selection of KCAT artist Francis Casey’s portraits of famous figures will be exhibited.
This exhibition brings together works by artists Francis Casey, Jan McCullough and Rory Mullen. The title is drawn from Rory Mullen’s Cork Story, which describes a tale of success and great fortune imparted from a man on his deathbed. Through video, painting and text the artists explore ideas around the ideal self, success and the influence of pop culture. An insightful social commentary emerges, drawing on both real and fictional narratives, which form the stories that we tell ourselves.
This is the first in a series of exhibitions by the curator in residence Leah Corbett, which will take place in the Kilkenny Arts Office Gallery from May- September 2019. This programme is funded by Kilkenny County Council Arts Office, Creative Ireland and the Arts Council of Ireland.
