Equinox
We are an ensemble-based theatre company dedicated to the creation, development, production and touring of new inclusive theatre work.
Equinox was founded in 2008 by eight graduates of KCAT’s theatre course who wanted to create opportunities for themselves as professional artists.
Equinox are currently working on developing their next ensemble show, Different Every Night, an Equinox Improv show which will see the company collaborating with a live musician, improvising in the moment. This show will provide will be a no-holes-barred, entertaining epic in which every performance will tell a different story, plunging the audience into the wonderful world of Equinox Theatre Company.
Examples of previous work include: The POWER Project, We All Come From Somewhere, an international co-production between 4 European organisations who have significant experience in the facilitation, creation and production of inclusive theatre from Nazzareno Cooperativo (Italy), THEAMA (Greece), Studio Citadela’s Bohnice Theatre Company (Czech Republic) and KCAT’s Equinox Theatre Company (Ireland); The Water Boys (National Tour 2019/2020 co-presented with The Watergate Theatre); collaboration on The Big Chapel (Asylum Productions, Kilkenny Arts Festival with The Abbey Theatre 2019); The M House (Dublin Theatre Festival and the Lyric Theatre, Belfast as part of Bounce! Festival) and (The Making of) The Frogs After Aristophanes (Project Arts Centre, Dublin Fringe Festival 2012)
